Nokia Siemens Networks announced yesterday that they managed to double the EDGE speed , making it 592 kbps, using a software application , that works in all EDGE compatible networks and phones .

Double EDGE speed

This technology will be launched in Q3/2008 and we will see EGPRS 2 with speed over 1.2 Mbps from Nokia .  Still this aren’t super-connection speeds , but it’s a good news for iPhone users . Ari Lehtoranta , the chief of Radio Access from Nokia Siemens Networks afirms that until 2015 we will have broadband IP and over 5 bilions of people will be connected to the internet .

Nokia Siemens Networks technology is used in over 260 networks from 117 countries , offering services to over 1.5 bilions of people . This new feature is called Dual Carrier EDGE , maybe because it’s double than normal EDGE speed . After will be launched we will have mobile tv , and streaming live on phones .

Siemens Soap

We must spare oppinions and we can tell the the phone looks amazing, even if it’s made for ladies . The designer of this cellphone is Mariano Fajgelbaum , but we guess we won’t see this phone on the market cause Siemens haven’t launched a good phone for years .
